First of all, everyone that is commenting obviously knows their beliefs inside and out, it is quite impressive. I dont have big words and probably could never win out a debate when it comes to religion. I am a 25 year old Mother of three/housewife/college student, I study Chemistry and Biology and read random religious forums in my free time
I grew up as a Jehovah's Witness and NEVER bought into it. I was only 9 when I began questioning and getting into trouble. Just yesterday, my six year old son said, "Mommy, so if God created everything, what was his plan for creating bad guys?" This question has been plaguing me from around that age, but now that he has asked me, I cant quite shake it.
It is entertaining and gives me much to think about when I read about all of your back and forth debating on here.
I sort of feel like a lightening bolt is going to strike me where I stand for saying this, but, the idea of an omniscient God really gives me this question, 'What is the point?'
When I drive my car, I dont swerve into oncoming traffic to see what is going to happen, I know what will happen. So why did he have to create all of us if he KNEW what would happen? I realize that is a 'dumbed' down and highly debatable example that I just provided. This is just one of the questions that I have that I would love to get a little more insight on. I dont know if people will ever really understand the answers to these kind of questions, but it is nice to be educated enough that we are able to form our own opinions and exercise our brains a little! Thank you for the afternoon of interesting reads!
